Is it "Beer-Thirty", Yet? :-)

Cold Beer! This is the side of a cold glass of beer with lots of condensation.

I've put in a good day. I worked on my road this morning with the tractor, trying to make the rain runoff go where I want it to. It seems to just have a mind of it's own and wash out in the worst places. . . a never-ending battle, I suppose.

Then, this afternoon, I worked in the basement. My "sweetie" wanted some furniture rearranged so I did that. Then, did some more rearranging of some of our items in a storage room, trying to make that area a bit more usable.

Now, I'm thirsty! My brother-in-law calls this time of day, "beer-thirty". . . time for a cold one. He also calls me his "no-brother-good-in-law", but that's another story.

Cheers!

Wishing Upon a Star - - - Do Planets Count?

You’ve done it - you know, made a wish on the first star you see as night falls.  It goes something like this:

“Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might have this wish I wish tonight.”

Yesterday evening, I was on the deck enjoying the crisp evening air, a cold beer, and a cigar.  The moon was up and I saw my first star of the evening, so I made a wish.  Then, I realized I was looking at a planet, Jupiter.  It made we wonder - was that wish made in vain or do planets count?  Just to be sure, I waited until I finally saw a “first star” and made my wish again - you can’t be too careful with that sort of thing.  :-)

The next thing that occurred to me was that (for me, at least) it wasn’t really a wish but a heartfelt prayer to our Lord.  So, I’m thinking that maybe it doesn’t matter it it’s prompted by a star, a planet, or just a random thought.  What counts is that the wish (prayer) is given with the understanding that it is a humble request and how or when it may be answered depends upon the infinite wisdom of God.
